Early light rain and a less than ideal forecast held attendance at the Oak Hill event to 32. The rain never came, but those who participated were treated to Hitchcockian attacks by Red Wing blackbirds on the Plateau Trail and a sighting by Richard Davies of the son of the Peninsula Python. Now Richard is well spoken and not prone to the use of profanity, but I thought I heard him utter an expletive when he nearly stepped on the guy (see photo). We were also treated to the sight of Bob Boltz’ rain hat, conjuring up memories of Devo for you Arkonites (see photo).
Fred Mailey provided excellent course designs – accurately set. He also stayed and assisted throughout the entire event. A huge thank you to Fred.
Bob Turanchik and Fred kept the rain away by providing canopies which if we did not have them, would have guaranteed a deluge. Thank you both.
