Classic Orienteering in the CVNP
Overview
Please join us in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park for an exciting afternoon of Orienteering at Oak Hill Trailhead.
This will be a Classic Orienteering event where controls must be visited in a set order. Beginners’ courses and some instruction will be available for those who want to give this sport a try. More experienced orienteers will enjoy some challenging checkpoints on the intermediate and advanced courses in the mix of open woods and more challenging areas. Creeks, ravines, small lakes and ponds abound. Click the link below for directions to the Oak Hill Trailhead.

- Date & Time: Saturday, April 13th. Check-in beginning at 9:15am
- Staggered starts from 10:00 – 11:00am
- Courses close at 1:00pm

Courses
Five courses will be available:
- White – Beginner – x.xkm long / y controls
- Yellow – Beginner with some Experience – x.xkm long / y controls
- Orange – Intermediate – x.xkm long / y controls
- Green – Short Advanced – x.xkm long / y controls
- Red – Long Advanced – x.xkm long / y controls
Preregistration and Cost
- Preregistrations, closing on Thursday, April 11 2024 at 9:00pm
- $10 per Start* for Members of NEOOC or O-USA affiliated clubs
- $15 per Start* for non-Members
- Walk-up Starts on Saturday, April 13, 10:00 – 11:00am, subject to map availability
- $20 per Start* (Member or non-Member)
- Walk-up starts running the Orange, Green or Red courses will be assigned start times that are after all of the preregistered participants have started.
* A Start is an individual or group navigating the course together. One map is included per paid start. Additional maps, up to two, are $3 each.
