2024 Snow-O
Overview
Continue your great start to 2024 by joining us for a classic-O at Camp Butler! This will be a classic orienteering event, with 5 courses covering the Beginner through Advanced skill levels.
Once again, we will be using assigned start times, practicing the starting procedures that we will be following in the Pan American Masters Games in July. More details on that below.

- Parking at Baden-Powell and check-in at the Conference Center (follow signage)
- Cost: $10 with preregistration for NEOOC members, $15 for non-members. Walk-up cost is $20 for anyone

Courses
Five courses will be available:
- White – Beginner
- Yellow – Beginner with some Experience
- Orange – Intermediate
- Green – Short Advanced
- Red – Long Advanced
Assigned Starts
We will be using assigned starting procedures in the Classic events during the first half of 2024 so that volunteers will have several opportunities to practice in advance of the Pan American Masters Games in July.
Preregistered participants will be assigned to a starting time in such a manner that starts will go out on 1-minute intervals, with a minimum 2-minute interval between runners in the same class/course. Assigned start times can be found in the table that can be viewed by clicking the “SEE WHO HAS REGISTERED SO FAR” button below.
Walk-up registrants will be assigned to a start time that will be after all of the preregistered participants have started.
PROCEDURE
- You will need to Clear and Check your Si card at the registration desk at check-in. A volunteer will help for anyone that needs an assist.
- Please plan to be ready to start 5 minutes before your assigned start time. A volunteer will offer a separate clue sheet for participants on intermediate and advanced courses if desired.
- White, Yellow, and Orange participants will receive their maps during the registration process and may ask volunteers for help to ensure a successful outing. Advanced course participants will receive their map at the start and will hold it face down until after punching the start control!
Preregistration and Cost
- Preregistrations, closing 9:00pm, January 4, 2024
- $10 per Start* for Members of NEOOC or O-USA affiliated clubs
- $15 per Start* for non-Members
- Walk-up Starts accepted on Saturday, January 6th 9:30am to 10:00am, subject to map availability
- $20 per Start* (Member or non-Member)
* A Start is an individual or group navigating the course together. One map is included per paid start. Additional maps, up to two, are $3 each.
After submitting your information on the registration form, you will be directed to the PayPal website. A small offset is added to cover PayPal fees.
