Paddle O Recap

Our 50th anniversary year Paddle O was on the water at Walborn Reservoir – our first event here since 2022.

Despite the air quality issues and severe thunderstorms the day before, this year’s Paddle-O turned out to be a perfect day.  Both water and winds were calm – always a good thing.

We had a great turnout with 25 teams and 36 individuals participating.  The course had a fun mix of landside, shoreline, island, and “underwater” controls, including the dorsal fin – crafted by Bob Boltz.

Congratulations to our three finishers who cleared the course for a maximum of 300 points: Jonathan Boyer, Phillip Wadsworth, and Team H2Oh-no!

After the race, everyone enjoyed refreshments and conversations with fellow orienteering (or watercraft) enthusiasts. We also had the opportunity to meet founding club members Nick and Shirley Baldwin.  Not only did they share interesting and fun stories from the early years, they also went out and collected landside controls. Glad you joined us!!

Hope everyone had fun!  Thanks to everyone who came out and made it a success.

See you next year!
