Overview
This night event will be in the Score-O style. In this type of event, controls will have different point values according to how challenging they are to find. Controls can be visited in any order, with the objective of getting the most points possible while finishing by an established deadline.
Control placements will be considerate for all ages and skill levels: nature-lovers, hikers, families, scouts, and experienced orienteers. All are welcome.
Bring a good headlamp or flashlight, and don’t forget the spare batteries – and a spare light source would be a good idea, too!
Details
- Saturday, November 11th.
- Check-in at Allardale Lodge (see map below) starting at 4:30pm
- Maps distributed as you check in.
- Mass start for all at 5:30pm.
- Ninety minutes will be allowed for this event, meaning everyone needs to have punched the Finish control by 7:00pm to avoid being penalized 10 points for each minute started past 7:00pm
- This even can be done solo or as a group of up to 6 people.
- Depending on availability, compasses and electronic timing devices can be borrowed from the club at no cost during the event.
- There will be no water stops on the course, so runners should bring their own water supplies
- SportIdent ePunch equipment and FULL SIZE control flags will be in use
- Livelox will be active for this event. Sign in to the Livelox app on your smartphone to record your route directly to Livelox, or record it on your Garmin or other GPS tracker, and upload it to Livelox later.

- $10 per Start* for Members of NEOOC or O-USA affiliated clubs
- $15 per Start* for non-Members
- Walk-up Starts accepted on Saturday, November 11th, 2023 from 4:30pm to 5:30pm, subject to map availability
- $20 per Start* (Member or non-Member)
* A Start is an individual or group (2-6) navigating the course together. One map is included per paid start. Additional maps, up to two, are $3 each.
You can also renew your NEOOC membership (or join) on the preregistration form. After submitting your information on the registration form, you will be directed to the PayPal website. A small offset is added to compensate for PayPal fees.
