Overview
This will be a classic orienteering event, with 5 courses covering the Beginner through Advanced skill levels, in Cuyahoga Valley National Park’s Boston Run area. Except for a handful of controls in the Python, we haven’t been there in several years, so there should be fun and challenges for all comers!
In addition, there will be a newly-updated map with courses designed by “Boulder Bob” Boltz! Bob promises a “challenging RED course” for the advanced orienteers who are up to the challenge!
Being an evening event, it will get dark in the woods, even for the early starters. Bring your headlamps and flashlights, with fresh batteries!
Lastly, there will be one water stop for Red, Green and Orange. White and Yellow should carry a water bottle. Red may want to do that too! Water for all at Start and Finish.

- Parking off 303 in eastern-most parking lot (Happy Days Lodge). Follow signage to check-in.

Courses
Five courses will be available:
- White – Beginner
- Yellow – Beginner with some Experience
- Orange – Intermediate
- Green – Short Advanced
- Red – Long Advanced
For the Season Championship:
- White and Yellow results will go to the Beginner skill categories
- Orange results will go to the Intermediate skill categories
- Green and Red results will go to the Advanced skill categories
Preregistration and Cost
- Preregistrations, closing 9:00pm, Wednesday, July 12, 2023
- $10 per Start* for Members of NEOOC or O-USA affiliated clubs
- $15 per Start* for non-Members
- Walk-up Starts accepted on Friday, July 14 from 6:00 to 7:00 pm, subject to map availability
- $20 per Start* (Member or non-Member)
* A Start is an individual or group navigating the course together. One map is included per paid start. Additional maps, up to two, are $3 each.
