Recap and Results
We welcomed over 50 intrepid orienteers to Saturday’s score event, including serveral special guests who traveled far to have fun with us. Thanks to Jens and Harvey Christenson (Wilde Boyz) from Southeast Michigan Orienteering Club (SMOC), John Pane and Tatjana Chamis from Western Pennsylvania Orienteering Club (WPOC) for joining us. A big shoutout to J-J Cote, who made the long trip from Massachusetts to check off February 21 in his quest to orienteer on every day of the year!
We had two new course desingers/setters for this event, Scott Branstetter and Walker Ziewitz. They did a great job designing and created a fun, competitive course. Two participants cleared the course (inside of the 90 minute limit): Brandon Hopkins (1st place) and J-J Cote (2nd), both earning the chance to ring the bell. Third place went to Todd Pownell . Following the event, we held our annual meeting. We’re pleased to welcome two newly elected board members, Brad Lohiser and Sean Hensley. During the meeting, we reviewed key details of the 2026 schedule, discussed the club’s continued growth, volunteer opportunities, and covered several administrative changes.
