To commemorate the 50th year for NE Ohio Orienteering, we thought it would be fun to experience what it was like in the early years of the club. For this event, we have produced a 1:10,000 hybrid map: parts are from the most current full color version / parts are from our 1990 black & white version drawn by Ken Lappin (1943-2021). Did you know that in the past participants had to copy the control circles with a red pen onto their blank map before starting? Producing our first color maps was such a complicated process that we would print a thousand copies for use over many years with NO updates. Now, with our amazing OCAD software and GPS, we can add updates prior to any event and pre-print the courses! This will be a classic orienteering event, with 5 courses: Beginner through Advanced skill levels.
