The Oak Hill area offers two distinct trails, the Oak Hill Trail, and the Plateau Trail. Naturally, in orienteering, we aim to get off trail for some of the controls, but this event will also feature 2 courses that are all on-trail, especially designed to bridge the gap between trail runners and orienteering. So why not come out, enjoy some trail running, and learn to orienteer at the same time?
Preliminary Results – Score Course – Full Recap to follow shortly.
Eighteen miles of trail in a one square mile of area make for some interesting route choices! This is a score event. Controls vary in point value. Try to get the most points in 90 minutes. Beginner course also available.
Picture yourself orienteering in the beautiful Cuyahoga Valley National Park just as the leaves are changing in early fall. Call it a ROGAINE, an Adventure Race or an Extreme Navigation Challenge. It all adds up to a long score-style orienteering event in one of the most visited National Parks in America.
With rain in the forecast, but no clouds in sight in the early morning, we prepared fun, but challenging courses on the Kenston Campus and surrounding woods. All courses included a mix of both traditional “in the woods” orienteering, with sprint elements on the open campus.
Join us for the third time at the beautiful Kenston Campus to run (or walk) classic+sprint courses. The Kenston Campus features a gently sloping terrain, and a nice mix of woods, open campus, grass covered areas, landscaped features, and a full array of buildings, a sports stadium, baseball fields, and more. You get to see all of it on any of the courses.
